WHO AM I
I’m Sara Facchin, a mum of two boys living in Wilmslow. I trained at Mindful Doulas in Scotland in 2011 and I'm a birth doula recognised and a mentored postnatal doula. In 2017 a had a pause because I started my midwifery degree. After qualifying I decided to be an independent/traditional midwife abroad to maintain my skill but decided to continue working as a doula in the UK.
I have a BTEC in health and care theory and practice, I’m a qualified massage therapist and a Kundalini Yoga teacher.
I have so many passion, including photography. So if you are thinking for a professional birth photographer… here I’m !
MY STORY
My first son was born in hospital, and after becoming a mother I developed a great interest for the complexity of pregnancy and the amazing capacity of a woman to birth their babies – all within a gentle and holistic context. But it was after having a wonderful experience during the birth of my second son that I decided that supporting other women and helping them to achieve a positive and fulfilling birth experience was the right job for me. I was then a woman on a mission! As I felt confident that my life experience could be passed forward to other mothers, I decided to undergo training and become a doula.
MY PHYLOSOPHY
I believe in the capability and strength of a woman’s body to birth her babies.
A safe, protected and comfortable birth space and the right support during labour can drastically increase the chances of a positive birth outcome and a satisfactory experience. I believe that a mother who is nurtured through labour, birth and the early postnatal period, feels much more confident to nurture and care for her baby. It improves the bond, helps to establish successful breastfeeding, enhances confidence in parenthood... and beyond!
